A young Boy when he was supposed to focus on his school curriculum and studies was forced to do a job for bread and butter. Ravi Kumar was just 14 years in 2012 when his father demised. Being an elder siblings of two in the house, he had to venture out along with his schooling for money. Since his childhood, he had an inclination toward Computers. So he tried for computer-related jobs that’s he got his first job in a local computer Institute for a meagre salary of Rs. 2000 a month. The salary was not enough even to meet his own basic schooling expenses, however, he dedicated himself there for six months and gained basic software and hardware expertise and knowledge. He continued there as he was keen on getting computer knowledge and a few experiences which might help him in the future.
With every passing day, the old savings of his dad was depleting and Ravi was under pressure to earn more, finally on one day, he joined one more job in a Local Ayurvedic Shops for a higher salary of 5000 Rs. Per month.
Due to the money requirements, he joined ayurvedic shops, but his inclination in the Computer field never died so he couldn’t able to solidify himself in the second job and in few months he left in search of further betterment.
Having a zeal for an upward movement with little confidence, he decided to start his own computer hardware services at the doorstep. He soon realized that it is not that easy to create a market for himself as a new entrant as there was a trust deficit that needs to be developed for the market players and the customers as well. But he Never Gave-up. As saying goes God helps those who help themselves.
One day he met a computer dealer who used to buy and sell old computers from whom he got a repair assignment. Seeing his work, the dealer got impressed and often used to give the repair and service work to him. He worked throughout the day with his bicycles for miles on the field. Soon people started recognizing appreciating his services and work. With the growing recognition of Ravi in the field, the dealer felt threatened about his established business and gradually reduced the new business flow to him. Mr. Ravi also sensed the nerve happening in his surroundings.
In 2016, Ravi and a few of his friends partnered a business venture for selling new assembled computers directly to consumers on a referral system. Things worked well for some time, but soon messiness erupted among the partners, as generally, the case happens in a most partnership businesses in India because of an unprofessionalism approach or other reasons. At the end of 2016, Mr. Ravi came out of the partnership leaving the entire business.
In 2017, with fresh zeal and confidence Ravi started his proprietorship firm in the Name of ‘’New Computers Link’’ with small sales and service having counter office at sector 1 Dhurwa Ranchi Near Birsa Chowk. Now some way he has freezed his mind to focus on sales and services and establish his brand in the market which would be known for good services, with best quality and at cheapest and reasonable price.
While talking to one of our Ocashpay Community Members, he said that he kept following the philosophy of good services, with best quality and at cheapest and reasonable price in all his business dealings. This business philosophy has helped him getting new customers and client’s maximum on referrals. Further many clients take services on repetitively. This gives him immense satisfactions.
Since the inception of his firm “New Computers Link” he has trained many young boys on the job in sales and services along with his younger brother. Few of them still works for him and few who came from other nearby districts left him and started own ventures at their native villages or town. While talking to one of his staff members, our Ocashpay Community members came to know that Mr. Ravi do not treat his staff members just as employees, rather he treats them as his brother and one of his family members. Good behaviors towards his fellow staffs had also contributed immensely in his growth.
In January 2021, he has inaugurated his second branches sales and services counter main road at Birsa Chowk with a good sophisticated interiors and inventory worth more than 30 lakhs. Just within a span of 4 years he has managed to register his growth from Nil to turnovers in crores. While talking to us he became sentimental while remembering the days when he started his job with a salary of Rs. 2000 p.m and today with God grace he has more than 4 staffs whom he pay monthly salary.
